Welcome to the LEEA, the globally recognised trade association for all those involved in the design, manufacture, hire, repair, refurbishment, maintenance and use of lifting equipment.



For over half a century, we have played a key role in raising the worldwide profile of this important industry. Our wide-ranging activities include:

  • Technical and legal support for our Members across the world
  • Health and safety promotion in liaison with the UK Health & Safety Executive
  • Preparation and implementation of British, European and International standards
  • Development and management of examination qualifications for testers and examiners
  • Practical and distance learning training courses
  • Authoritative representation at governmental level as well as with many public, professional and technical bodies
